Zäpämmät for Peace really takes a stand and brings out silenced voices: girls whose genitals are already mutilated as young children and women imprisoned as sex slaves in wars.
Millions, is a heartbreaking song about girls whose rights are violated through child marriage, circumcision and deprivation of the right to go to school.
When the soldiers came to a village is reflecting what happens to the human mind in war, how the atrocities of war are repeated over and over again, and what is the fate of a woman in war?
Through these songs, Zäpämmät wants to raise there themes for discussion. What could we do and how could we take advantage of our privileges as a citizen of a Western welfare state and make the world a more humane place for those who face atrocities over and over again?
